Burglars Break Into Chester Bank, Tyler County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help

Updated: Jul 15

CHESTER, Texas — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who broke into the BOM Bank in Chester early Thursday, damaging a safe and leaving broken glass on the lobby floor.

According to the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 2 a.m. on July 10 to a lobby motion alarm at the bank. When deputies arrived, they found that a glass door had been shattered and observed glass scattered inside.

Inside the bank, deputies discovered damage to the safe along with other evidence of forced entry. Investigators also recovered security footage that shows two suspects, one of whom was wearing a dark hoodie with the word “SECURITY” printed on it.

Sheriff Bryan Weatherford released images from the security footage Friday in an effort to identify the suspects.

“We’re asking anyone with information to come forward,” the Sheriff’s Office said in the release. “Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.”
