Eddie “Hehim” Griffin, 79, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time on Saturday, July 19, 2025, led by Brother Richard Perry, at Jesus Name Apostolic Tabernacle in Warren, Texas. A military honors graveside service, led by “Maji”, will follow at Justice Cemetery in Hillister, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Karstedt, Michael Talbert, Harley Talbert, Shawne Owens, Russ Marton, and Kelly Belgard. Honorary pallbearers are Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets.
Edward was born June 24, 1946 to Edward McClure Griffin, Sr. and Dixie Marie Sutton Griffin in Pasadena, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Warren, Texas and a former chaplain of Legacy Vets. Edward loved making knives and doing leatherworks, including vest making. He also enjoyed riding horses, welding, and making barbeque pits.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dixie Griffin; wife, Janie Lou Owens Griffin; and sister, Jeanie Ward.
He is survived by his sons, Calvin Ray Hibbard of Michigan, and Robert Karstedt of Warren; daughters, Cyndi Moreno and husband Mike of Aransas Pass, Karen Garcia and husband Greg of Santa Fe; and Wynonia Talbert of Warren; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
