Obituary of Helen Erzen Zagar

May 15, 1937 - July 6, 2025

A Celebration of Helen Erzen Zagar’s Life, age 88, of Jasper, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2025 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Texas with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas with a Rosary to begin at 7:00p.m..

Helen passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Rosewood Assisted Living II in Jasper, Texas.

A native and lifelong resident of the Jasper area, Helen enjoyed crocheting and cooking and was a very active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Helen is survived by her sister, Fay Huddleston of Benton, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine and Lillie Mae Erzen; husband, Stephen Zager; brothers, Dean Erzen and L.C. Erzen and sisters, Juanell Langham and Ocie Crowell.
