With great sadness we announce the passing of James Ray (Jim) Newbould, 80, of Livingston Texas on Friday, July 4, 2025. He was born in St Louis Missouri on December 16, 1944.
Jim reunited with the love of his life, LaJohna, after stopping in to visit her dad during a trip from Houston to Colorado for work. They were married on August 23, 1974 and joined a blended family of three girls and added a fourth daughter a few years later.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Margaret Newbould, siblings: Art Newbould, Tom Newbould, Jack Newbould, Dickie Newbould, Margie Newbould and Annie Newbould, and very special friends Charlie and Stella Parten.
Jim is survived by his wife of over 50 years, LaJohna Newbould, brother Bob Newbould and wife Sharon, children: Beverly Reinert and husband Aaron, LaDona Legg, Tracia Swartwout and husband Dave, LynnAnn Lambright and husband Timmy and 12 grandchildren Wesley Reinert and wife Casey, Taylar Stokes and husband Austin, Justin Legg and wife Madison, Brandon Legg, Kaitlyn Legg, Luke Sanders, Emma Sanders, Nathan Swartwout, Ashley Swartwout, Blake Lambright and wife Melanie, Tyler Lambright, and Carly Lambright. Two great grandchildren, Logan Stokes and Makenna Stokes and many other family and friends.
A 1962 graduate of Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas. Jim served in the US Army from January 3, 1963, to November 12, 1965, and was stationed in Germany. His work in the oil industry gave he and his family the opportunity to travel all over the world. He retired after many years in the oil industry. He believed in never saying can’t, and always told us to remember who you represent, “God, Family and Country”. Jim was a devoted husband and father whose faith in Jesus guided every aspect of his life and helped him lead his family with Christian values. His true and honest character shined through no matter the situation.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Midway Community Church with Military Honors burial to follow in Midway Cemetery all in Midway Community, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Robert Smith, Quentin Matthews, and Taylar Stokes. Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Reinert, Justin Legg, Brandon Legg, Blake Lambright, Tyler Lambright, and Austin Stokes. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Newbould, Aaron Reinert, and Timmy Lambright.
