Mary Alice Gostick, 82, of Woodville, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Dogwood Trails Manor in Woodville, Texas.


Visitation will begin 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial to follow in Midway Cemetery in Livingston. Officiating will be Jacques Blanchette.


Mary was born July 10, 1943 to Joseph Archie and Rosalee Alice Stagner Wright in Houston, Texas. A native of Houston and a former resident of Midway, she had lived the past 25 years in Woodville. She retired after working many years at Weingarten’s in Houston, First State Bank, Holiday Inn, and The Park Inn all in Livingston. She was a member of the Broadcast Music Inc. and American Society of Composers, Artist, and Publishers. Mary often said, “their time will come.”


She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rosalee Wright; husband of 33 years, John William Gostick, Jr.; brothers, Richard Hart, Joseph Hart, and Leonard Simmons.


She is survived by her daughter, Dana Hogg and husband Calvin of Woodville; grandson, William Bradley Gostick; great granddaughters, Rylee Gostick, Shelby Gostick, and Eleanor Gostick; and brother, Robert Womack.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
