Obituary of Tommy Lee Harwell

February 11, 1944 - August 31, 2025

Tommy Lee Harwell, 81, of Woodville, passed away surrounded by family on August 31, 2025.

Born February 11, 1944, in Louisiana to Lex and Mary Harwell, he lived in Woodville for many years. He retired from Lufkin Industries as a machinist. Tommy also made sure his family knew how much he loved them by working hard to provide and giving unselfishly for each one of them. He enjoyed his country music and playing card games with his family.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Lex Harwell; mother, Mary McCluskey Harwell; granddaughter, Lesley Eckenfels; sister, Mary Hayes; and brothers, Billy Harwell, Larry Harwell, and Freddie Harwell.

He is survived by the love of his life, Edna Harwell; his children, Misty Phillips, Leroy Wood, Donald Wood and William Harwell; grandchildren, Breanna Fussell, Kelsey Grimes, Amber Thompson, Patricia Wood, Olivia Võ and Joshua Harwell; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Harwell, Mike Harwell, Troy Harwell, Susie Wheat and numerous other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11 am at the Campground Cemetery. A gathering of the family will be held at 10 am at the cemetery.
