A high-speed chase that began early Monday morning in Livingston ended with a multi-agency manhunt near Chester, where one suspect remains on the run.
According to law enforcement, the pursuit began on Highway 59 South after Polk County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a reported stolen truck. The suspects refused to stop, leading authorities north through Polk County and into Tyler County, where the vehicle ultimately crashed on Highway 287, roughly one mile from the county line.
Following the crash, three Hispanic male suspects fled into a wooded area near Bowden Road, prompting a large-scale search operation.
Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, Chief Deputy, and multiple deputies assisted in the response. Tyler County deputies took one suspect into custody, while Polk County deputies apprehended a second. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) was on scene with scent-specific K9 units, and DPS troopers from both counties also assisted.
As of Tuesday afternoon (July 22, 2025, 2:25 PM), the Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that one suspect remains at large. Law enforcement continues to maintain a strong presence in the Chester area.
