LIVINGSTON, TX -
With all the terroristic threats and attacks in the world recently, threats against children are especially frightening and sadly today, threats were made against a children's Christian Summer Camp- Camp Cho-Yeh in nearby Livingston.

Late Sunday morning, Livingston Police Department was made aware of an investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office regarding threats made towards Camp Cho-Yeh by a former camp employee. Polk County investigators secured an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Mario Bernal. Meanwhile, units from both agencies were staged surrounding Camp Cho-Yeh.

Just after noon today, a Livingston officer spotted the suspect vehicle on South Washington near the camp entrance. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrested Bernal without incident. He was then transported to the Polk County Jail.
While there is no current threat, law enforcement will continue to patrol in and around Camp Cho-Yeh as the investigation continues.
Livingston Police Chief Matt Parrish said, “Threats to this community, especially involving our children, will always be taken seriously. I commend the quick and thorough investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, as well as the response by our officers.”
