Two Dam-B residents were arrested on July 16 following a disturbance that led Tyler County deputies to uncover an outstanding warrant and prohibited substances inside the jail.

According to the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 9:00 a.m. to a residence on County Road 4098 in the Dam-B area for a reported verbal disturbance involving two individuals.

Upon arrival, deputies identified 26-year-old Nicholas Williams and 29-year-old Diamond Hoyt as the individuals involved. Both admitted to verbally and physically assaulting one another.

Williams was taken into custody on an active warrant for Misdemeanor Assault Class A, as well as a new charge of Assault Class C, and was transported to the Tyler County Jail.

Hoyt was also arrested for Assault Class C, but during a search at the jail, authorities discovered a small amount of marijuana concealed in her pants pocket. She now faces an additional charge of Felony Possession of a Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.

Justice of the Peace Tina Self set bond for both individuals at $25,000 each.
