Registered sex offender arrested and charged with Felony Failure to Comply with Registration Requirements

On January 7th, of this year, Tyler County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Ricky Coker was conducting a review of sex offenders who are required to register in Tyler County.
During the review, Sgt. Coker discovered that 31-year-old Charles Groze, of Tyler County, had failed to report his change of residence address. Groze had originally reported that he was living at a residence in the Mt. Neches/Town Bluff area.
During a check of the residence, Sgt. Coker discovered the travel trailer was abandoned with the doors open and no electricity.
Approximately a week later, Sgt. Coker returned to the residence and found the trailer in the same previous condition and still unoccupied.
As a registered sex offender, Groze is required by law to report any residence changes. Sgt. Coker presented Justice of the Peace Tina Self a Complaint/Probable Cause Affidavit and an arrest warrant was issued for Groze.
On February 15th, Groze was located and arrested for Felony Failure to Comply with Registration Requirements. Justice of the Peace Jim Moore set bond at $1,000.00.
