Vehicle Destroyed in Fire Near CR 2300 and Highway 256

TYLER COUNTY, Texas — A car was completely destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of FM 256 North and County Road 2300, according to the Shady Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:20 p.m. after a passerby reported the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

The driver, who was traveling through the area, reported that the vehicle began smoking, prompting him to exit before it caught fire. He was uninjured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The vehicle is considered a total loss.
