Warren man killed in accident that left more than 1,000 without power

The Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal crash on FM 1122, near FM 418, that occurred early Wednesday morning.

DPS Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:20 a.m., a 2018 Ford F-150 was traveling west. It is reported that the driver failed to negotiate a curve safely and entered the ditch where they struck a pole head-on and then a large tree, causing the driver to be ejected."


The driver of the Ford, identified as 19-year-old Zachary Morris of Warren was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.


According to an Entergy map, more than 1,000 were without power following the accident.
