ree

WOODVILLE, Texas – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2033 is inviting the community to come together in honor of Patriot Day with its 3rd Annual Patriot Day Weekend event on Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7, at Veterans Park, 301 Veterans Way. Admission is free.

The two-day event blends remembrance with celebration. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., families can enjoy live bands, patriotic vendors, children’s bounce houses, raffles, and a blood drive hosted by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. Unique attractions include a showcase of Polaris Slingshot Riders traveling in from Woodville, Beaumont, and Houston, as well as the Rolling Thunder Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall, a moving tribute honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with a Sunrise Service, providing a time for reflection and prayer.

Organizers emphasize that the weekend is dedicated to both supporting Tyler County first responders and remembering the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. Guests are encouraged to wear their most patriotic attire and spend time connecting with local veterans who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Kosovo, Afghanistan, and the War on Terrorism.

Families will also have the chance to meet Smokey the Bear, making the event engaging for children as well.

“Patriot Day is about honoring sacrifice, recognizing service, and strengthening community,” VFW Post 2033 representatives shared. “We hope to see everyone at Veterans Park for a weekend filled with music, fellowship, and remembrance.”
